Blood Diamond is the second of three straight movies in which the so called Titanic pretty boy proves that he has moved into the premier ranks of cinematic players. Okay, the South African accent is quirky enough - but it is the ambivalence about who he is that makes Leonard convincing. With the death of Paul Newman there can be a worthy successor. Only Will Smith, Denzell Washington, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman perform so consistently well.
